Lakewood

Lakewood is the home to Western's sailing team. Located on beautiful Lake Whatcom, this 4,000-square-foot log facility contains a boat house, meeting lounge, locker rooms, and the manager's apartment. It is home to the teams FJ's, Lasers , and everyones favorite Alphas. It is also home to a Soling, two Keel Boats, two Hobies (a 14 and an 18), a whole slew of kayaks, canoes and windsurfers.

Directions to Lakewood

From I-5

Take the Lakeway Drive exit (exit number 253) and procede east on Lakeway Drive. Just follow Lakeway Drive while it twists and turns eventually becoming Lake Whatcom Boulevard. Follow Lake Whatcom Boulevard until you see the big brown Lakewood sign on the lefthand side. It is approximately 6.3 miles from I-5 to Lakewood.

From Campus

Follow High Street to Chestnut Street. Take a right on Chestnut. Follow Chestnut until it makes at "T" with Ellis. Take a left on Ellis. From Ellis take the first right onto Lakeway Drive (at the Chevron). Follow Lakeway Drive while it twists and turns eventually becoming Lake Whatcom Boulevard. Follow Lake Whatcom Boulevard until you see the big brown Lakewood sign on the lefthand side. It is approximately 7 miles from when you turn onto Lakeway to Lakewood.
