PSU Team Race Regatta

April 2-3, 2005

Nine teams from five schools attended this year's first annual PSU Team Race Regatta hosted at Vancouver Lake Sailing Club in Vancouver, Washington. 51 races were completed over the weekend, with 19 races in a qualifying round robin, including a 3-race sail off for the final spot in the Championship fleet, and 32 races for the final two rounds in the Championship and Consolation rounds. Saturday was partly cloudy with a puffy and shifty 5-10 knots blowing from the southeast. Teams were split into Fleet 1 and Fleet 2 for the qualifying races and all 16 matches were completed on Saturday, with a 3-race sail off between Lewis & Clark College, Western's Team Slick, and U. Washington's Team AMF. Team Slick moved on to the Championship Round with two wins and no losses. Sunday was cloudy with light drizzle and 8-12 knots blowing again from the southeast and then dying to 5-8 towards the afternoon. Two full rounds for both fleets were just barely completed within the time limit.
